Diving in Wales can be both challenging and rewarding with most diving opportunities taking place from March through to October. Water temperatures start at around 45F in March so a dry suit is recommended. Most of the dive spots are for experienced UK coastal divers only and visibility varies between 15 and 50 feet. Due to strong and often dangerous tides boat cover is mandatory at all times.
You will be rewarded with seal colonies, underwater cliffs, reefs and literally hundreds of wreck sites. One wreck worth a mention is the shipwrecked Admantios J Pithis, also known as "The Greek" close to St. Anne's Head in Pembrokeshire. This former 5,000 ton steamer now resides spread across the sea bed and makes a home for the odd lobster and lots of spider crabs.
