Vietnam dive spots include Nha Trang, Whale Island, Phu Quoc and Hoi An. Nha Trang is a popular choice and is home to more than 20 dive sites including the pinnacle named Electric Nose famous for soft corals and macro life over an expansive dive site that takes days if not weeks to fully explore. Madonna Rock is a good spot for exploring caves; fish inhabiting waters here include ghost pipefish and small glass fish.
Situated just north of Nha Trang, Whale Island is best visited from April to July where whale sharks and whales appear en masse to feed in these aqua waters. Underwater beautiful coloured corals, gorgonians make for a great dive at the Hon Trau Nam sire whilst White Rock is famous for sheer walls and rare black coral. There are a few other dive spots off Whale Island along with snorkelling closer to shore.
Diving in Hoi An is characterised by caves and shallow rocky reefs making for good snorkelling opportunities. There is a marine park here comprising eight islands and hundreds of coral and fish varieties. Ribbon eels are easily spotted lurking amongst smaller reef fish.
