America's west coast is home to kelp forest diving in California plus whale watching. Diving at Santa Barbara island will bring you up close and personal to literally hundreds of sea lions and seals whilst San Nicolas island is rich in giant lobsters and shoals of tropical fish off Begg Rock. Wreck diving is available at San Clemente island where the USS Butler resides surrounded by large fish. September through to May offers the best visibility for West Coast dives.
