Japan Dive Reviews

Japan is home to more than 2,000 dive locations with conditions varying from the artic to the sub-tropical. Starting close to Tokyo, Izu Peninsula is by nature very popular and features Oceanic Park. Eagle rays and views of Mount Fuji add to the beauty of this spot.

Also not too far away are Izu Islands comprising seven islands and a national park. Dolphins, whales and sharks are all easy to find in the warmer southern waters of the Ogasawara Islands which would require an overnight stay or longer from Tokyo due to their location a few thousand kilometres away.

Take a short flight from Tokyo to Okinawa considered Japan's best diving spot thanks to its tropical location down south. This area includes a rumoured sunken city and a cluster of islands. There are a few shipwrecks for diving (many are in waters too deep for diving), whilst colourful corals are found at the Kermamas.

To go to the other extreme head to Hokkaido and Northern Japan for ice diving amongst stunning ice drifts. Dry suits definitely required.
