Located in Eastern Africa on the boarder with the Red Sea, Eritrea is home to diving with interesting underwater rock formations, soft and hard corals, turtles, reef sharks, groupers and barracudas. Sites include Dessei Island, Madote, Shomma and Enteara which is home to napoleon fish and great for snorkelling and night dives. Dur Gaam, Dur Gella, Dohul Bahot and Dahret also boast colour dives rich in tropical fish.
Diving is also available on an old Russian dry dock in a channel filled with coral gardens and caves and in Urania at an Italian cargo ship dating back to World War II.
