Diving in El Salvador is characterised by open water and crate lakes. The ocean water diving is in Los Cobanos with warm, calm waters, spectacular underwater rock formations, wrecks and reefs.

There are several crater lakes to choose from including Coatepeque and Ilopango, both created by volcanic eruptions and offering unique underwater rock formations making homes for an abundance of marine life. Night diving is also available.
