Most divers head to Easter Island which is 2,300 miles offshore, there is closer diving in La Serena but Easter Island has more to offer. Located on a submarine volcanic ridge with superb visibility of 120 feet the waters are however lacking in coral reefs and are not vast with regards to marine life on offer. Motu Nui Islets off Easter Island's South West coast are also worth a look. Winter offers the best diving conditions with reduced diving options in summer thanks to the choppy waters.
