Diving in Bermuda is all about reefs and wrecks, boasting 300 shipwrecks and 200 or so miles of pristine, healthy reefs. The beauty of the shipwreck diving is that they are mostly in shallow waters making them accessible to all including snorkelers.
Noted Shipwrecks include Cristobel Colon a Spanish luxury transatlantic liner and Bermuda's largest shipwreck sunk in 1936 and The Constellation a four-masted wooden-hulled schooner which is now home to parrot fish, grouper and octopus. The Marie Celeste is also famous in these waters, a paddle-wheel steamer acting as a blockade runner during the Civil War. Sunken in 1864 in 56 feet of water this wreck is great for exploring underwater tunnels.
Diving in Bermuda is offered all year round, but is recommended from May to October when the waters are warm and the seas are calm. Night diving is also available.
